| Odyssey During the school year, kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade are part of an exciting Odyssey adventure! Every Wednesday evening, at 7:00 p.m., Odyssey meets in the Junior Church Chapel for a wonderful time of learning about our God and Jesus Christ in ways that relate to a kids world and their interests. Each month, the kids are introduced to a new theme that comes complete with a bible story, games, crafts, music, snacks and activities. The months have weekly planned activities – all that is said and done ties into the monthly theme. Kids also are given the chance to earn "Adventure Bucks" which allow them to go to the Odyssey box to "buy" fun prizes as a reward for attendance, participation in activities, bringing their bible and bringing new friends. This program usually begins after Labor Day on the first Wednesday in September and goes through the school year, ending with a fun celebration in May. During the month of December, we work on a Christmas program which involves kids from Odyssey and Sunday School. This program is presented to parents, friends and the congregation on Christmas Sunday, usually the Sunday before Christmas. Odyssey gives kids a great opportunity to bring their friends to church and show how learning about our God can be FUN! |
